Speaker's Biography

Associate Professor Matt Hopcraft is a dental public health expert. He is formally the Director of Clinical Education at the Melbourne Dental School. His areas of expertise include water fluoridation, aged care, dental workforce issues, mental health and tooth decay, and he has published widely on these issues. He co-founded SugarFree Smiles to advocate for measures to improve oral health in Australia, and co-founded Mindful Smiles to raise awareness of mental health issues in the dental profession. He has been involved with many public campaigns to raise awareness of oral health issues and encourage healthy eating.
